Award-winning, intricate design

Holywell Learning Campus : Flintshire

A winner of two prestigious awards, our work for Holywell Learning Campus provided us with a welcome opportunity to let our imaginations fly, flex our creativity and apply our wealth of logistical expertise.

From nursery to sixth form Space Zero designed, specified, procured and delivered a truly spectacular learning environment.

Being involved from the start, we were able to weave several bespoke features into the multi-level hill-top architecture. Organic science workstations, angular reception counters and fun hideaway reading spaces were all worked into the design, while vibrant and pastel hues combined with warm natural wood finishes to create a smart, contemporary look.

We also tendered the various FF&E packages and recommended several FF&E providers, thus allowing the main contractor to concentrate on the actual build. While all the main subcontract packages (sports, D&T, fitted, stage lighting) were selected and managed by Space Zero, the loose furniture was procured and installed entirely by us. Using almost forty different manufacturers from Europe and the UK, we conducted an efficient, trouble-free, three-week installation in challenging conditions.

The award-winning result remains a testament to the all-round qualities that we bring to the FF&E table.

“This exciting new learning campus in Holywell will be a wonderful modern new facility for children, young people and the wider community. These schemes form part of Flintshire’s planned investment in their schools under Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools and Education Programme.”

Councillor Chris Bithell, Flintshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education.
