A high performing workforce needs an office space that genuinely inspires. When Oliver James moved into the prestigious No 1 Spinningfields development in Manchester City Centre, the busy recruitment consultancy wanted a fresh approach to an energetic sales floor and a similar feel on the operations floor above. In just eight months, and on a modest budget for such a high-profile space, Space Zero completed the 16,500 sqft design and fit out.

Key to the design success was the clever use of cost effective materials, juxtaposing them with touches of more exclusive material to create high-impact spaces. Space Zero also concentrated any cellular spaces in board to reduce building infrastructure changes and reduce long term running costs. The company branding and colour palette of charcoal, blue and grey were used throughout the space. The meeting rooms each have a Manchester based name and theme, which is directly connected to the company ethos.
“The challenge was to create something in keeping with our values and work ethic; something that looked prestigious with a ‘wow’ factor. The design needed to appeal to two directors who had very different design ideas, and Space Zero delivered it.”
