Kelaty House is a 520 bedroom student accommodation and 172 hotel room development, located close to Wembley Stadium in London. The Architect’s proposed scheme consisted of five buildings, four for student accommodation and one as a hotel. Space Zero were appointed as the interior designers for all four of the student accommodation buildings.

After a series of ‘brainstorming’ meetings with the client Space Zero was then able to create a well structured and exciting brief for the interior design scheme.
The initial thought process was to create different concepts based on the surrounding landscape, in the form of nature, historic meaning and modern culture.
Through an integrated design process, we then began to amalgamate the two concepts into three key principles for the ID scheme to begin to take shape. These were:
Nature – Geometrical patternation
British Empire Exhibition – Connectivity / Materiality
1948 Olympics – Movement / Articulation / Colour
Space Zero then began to subtly and abstractly implement the three key principles into the early stages of the ID scheme, which would result in a flowing connecting narrative throughout all four student accommodation buildings.
